Sweet Treat Monday's :
Tesco Finest All Butter Triple Chocolate Cookies
Before being diagnosed with Coeliac Disease, I was a lover of biscuits.
Biscuits, cakes, chocolate, sweets...anything sweet I'd eat it.
On reflection, biscuits were probably not the best breakfast to have, but I would go through a packet of Maryland Cookies in the morning with a cup of tea.
When diagnosed I tried lots of different biscuits but they just didn't taste right, they were grainy, dry and quite frankly not worth the money. I even tried making my own, but this was a complete disaster and gave up.
A few months ago, I saw that Tesco finest had introduced cookies to their gluten free section. There were only two packs left on the shelf (Cranberry and white chocolate and triple chocolate) so I bought both and kept them in my work cupboard.
I love the triple chocolate cookies, and now can say that they are my absolute favourite.
Since then I hadn't seen any in my local Tesco/Tesco Express, which is probably good on the waistline as they are a hefty 95kcal per biscuit!
I don't buy sweet treats a lot, but I saw them in a Tesco Express in South East London at the weekend, and had to buy them as a treat!
They are a bit expensive at £2.00 a Packet for 8 biscuits, but I think you would pay this for a packet of regular Tesco Finest Cookies, and for a one off treat...it isn't too bad.
I would recommend anyone to try them, especially if you are a lover of chocolate...If not..don't fear, there are two new flavours that they have added to their line.
These are:
Ginger Cookies
Gluten Free Oats and Raisins
Paired with a strong 'English' cup of tea, they make the perfect elevenses on a dreary Monday morning at work.
Rating:
7/10 WELL DONE TESCO!
