On Thursday 31st July I was invited to a Nairn’s
event in London at the amazing hotel The Ivy.
I was absolutely mesmerised by the beauty of the hotel…the
glass lift made me feel like I was in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
Nairn’s have a very large (and growing) range of gluten free
products, and I felt like a child in a sweet shop. The first thing I did was
get a cocktail….and for someone who doesn’t like whisky, they were amazing.
Then I had a look at the range, and to be honest I never knew that Nairn’s had
such a large gluten free range!
I then had the massive surprise of Gluten Free Canapés. Where
in the world can you get Gluten Free Canapés??! I am organising my company
summer party, and trying to get gluten free options is something that is not
easy. They were lovely. Chicken Satay, and there was even a make your own canapé
station, with lots of different savoury and sweet toppings.
I had lived off Nairn’s gluten free porridge at University,
and their gluten free cheese oatcakes had tied me over during the Christmas period
to go with the vast amounts of different cheese on offer. That is as far as my
Nairn’s knowledge went. I had seen their little snack packs of cheese bites in Sainsbury’s
and Tesco, but recently they have released new products to the market.
The biscuits breaks….oh my goodness the biscuits breaks. I
have to say, I am addicted, and that is not a good thing. The chocolate biscuit
breaks are amazing. So tasty and so moreish. I even gave my Managing Director
some, who is Gluten Intolerant and he now wants more too, I wish he never knew
where my stash were in the bottom draw of my desk! Since Thursday I have eaten
4 packets. I think I am going to have to go to the gym for a little longer this
week, although, they do have 40% less sugar then regular biscuits, that’s a
plus isn’t it?
The muesli is lovely, I tried it this morning with some
blueberries and a dash of honey, and I am still full now. Normally by midday I
am reaching for the elevenses snack with my cup of tea. Not today though.
I have yet to try the new wholegrain crackers, but I can
tell, they will go down a treat as soon as the cheese board comes out…and
believe me...in my house we love cheese.
It was a great event, and I got some lovely goodies which
will (and have done already) go down a treat.
