It is so great that FINALLY Glutafin products will be introduced
to Hospitals across the UK from 2015. They announced the news on Twitter and on
Coeliac.org which is amazing, especially for those who are a coeliac or
hospitalised for any reason.
I had to have my wisdom teeth out a few months ago, which doesn't sound like the most devastating operation ever, but due to
complications it was very sore for a while and I couldn’t really eat anything
for about a week. Having said this, the hospital do not discharge you unless
you have eaten something about 2 hours after you come around from your anaesthetic. They had prior warning that I was a Coeliac and did
not have anything that I could eat…apart from salad.
I’m not going to lie, the pain I felt while trying to eat the
salad made me want to be put back under general anaesthetic. I just made my
poor boyfriend eat it so that we were allowed to go home!
It will be great for anyone who is in hospital for any
reason to be able to actually eat food!
