Gluten Free Beer...On Tap? Where?!

I have to admit, I am not normally a beer drinker, but recently I have been really into Czch beer Celia. Its light, refreshing, and I now have them stocked in my fridge. Family and friends who have tried it have said 'What is this stuff? Where can I get some?' ...and rightly so!

Beer drinkers, who can no longer consume gluten say that they miss having a cold pint in the pub. I know what I would be like if someone told me I couldn't have a nice glass of Malbec with my steak. Devastated would be the only word.

The bottled gluten free beer was an amazing addition to a long line of products now popping up in supermarkets and on menus...why don't we push one notch further? Why not have a gluten free beer on tap? Well that is exactly what Celia have done.

Why not try Celia, and once you have I promise you will want it stocked in all your local haunts!

For now, it's cheers from me!

Celia and Rana's Artisan Bread Event

Last week I was invited to a great event at The Truscott Cellar in Belsize Park for an event with Celia and Rana's Artisan Bread

For any of you that have been to the Truscott Arms, The Truscott Cellar is the sister pub. They too serve a great selection of Gluten Free dishes, and of course, the beer battered fish bites (using Celia Lager) was a highlight I must admit! If you enjoy the Truscott Arms, head to the Cellar and you won't be disappointed!

This was however an event for Celia Lager and Rana's Artisan Bread, but all round was gluten free heaven. I don't think I have ever been to a pub and have been able to drink a gluten free beer! I always thought I didn't like drinking beer, but Celia is light and went down far too easily! Why wouldn't you want it in your local pub? You'd be stupid not to.

Many of you wouldn't have heard of Rana's Artisan Bread, but keep a keen eye out for them! Their mixes are so easy, you literally have to just add water ...watch this space for a blog post all about them!

The bread itself when cooked tastes just like bread. Yes...real bread! I was absolutely delighted to try it and speak to the founders about how the produced such a great mix.

Their office and factory are 100% gluten free so there is no risk of cross contamination...at all.

Celia Lager and Gallo Recipe Review

Imagine the scene, a little cottage in Whitstable, Kent on the coldest weekend of the year so far, tucking into piping hot marinated chicken wings followed by a deliciously silky mushroom risotto, both made with a secret ingredient, Celia Lager.

Gluten Free Lager brand Celia (who also own the renowned Gluten Free restaurant Vozars in Brixon) and Gallo have joined forces to form a great collection of recipes using their products to create taste explosions.

I was lucky enough to get the chance to try these recipes out for myself found them extremely easy to follow. All the recipes include Celia lager (both light and dark) and make the dishes extra special. I don’t always cook at home and it was a nice chance to be in the kitchen in charge of the dinner.

The marinated chicken wings with honey and chilli were lovely, and came out sticky and golden – of course the magic ingredient being a whole bottle of Celia Original and left to marinate overnight. For a main course, I decided to try the mushroom risotto, where I used two types of mushroom for an intense flavour – oyster and button mushrooms. Again the magic ingredient along with stock was to use a whole bottle of Celia Original before the chicken stock was added to the rice. It makes the rice silky smooth and creamy without any cream being added at all.

The fabulous cookbook full of great little recipes is set to launch next year. In the meantime though, why not try Celia original in your risotto?
