Hola, Sin Gluten?

I am an avid plane hopper. My favourite country to visit has to be Spain. I love it. I feel like it is a home from home. Maybe this is because I grew up between London and Spain. But also because I feel the food is 'safe'. They tend to have a very good understanding of Gluten free or 'Sin Gluten' and even have a gluten free section in their supermarkets. My favourite range is from the supermarket 'Mercadona' it is reasonable, and actually doesn't taste too bad. There is only a small selection ranging from bread loaves to mini chocolate chip cookies, but, this is better than nothing at all. All things that are 'Sin Gluten' are labelled so on the front of the packaging....this even includes pints of milk!

Barcelona

During a recent trip to Barcelona, we had some amazing food. Not only was it fresh, but tasted so good...and yes, all Gluten Free!

My favourite Gluten Free Spanish Dish

My partner and I love food. We love it so much we dedicated a holiday to seeking out the best 'Gambas pil-pil' recipe. For those who are not familiar, this is an Olive Oil and Tomato based dish, cooked in a terracotta pot with chilli, smoked paprika, coriander, garlic (lots and lots of garlic!!) and of course, fresh prawns. The best thing about the dish, it is 100% gluten free, and twinned with a warm crispy GF baguette (to dip in the tasty sauce!) it happens to tingle those tastebuds, and is probably my favourite savoury treat!

My favourite Baguette at the moment is the part baked baguette from Sainsburys Free From Section, not only does it taste relatively 'normal' (a quote from my boyfriend) but it makes great sandwiches for picnics and long journeys.
