Delicious Alchemy Chocolate Brownies

I met the Delicious Alchemy girls at the Allergy and Free From Show back in July. Since then I have received a goodie box, with things to try out.

Top of my list however…The Chocolate Brownies. Of course!
I am ok at cooking, but to be honest my timings are sometimes a bit out, thank goodness for the timing on the side of the packet (and instructions)!! On Sunday, I decided after a long day of dragging my boyfriend around Westfield to buy holiday clothes, I would make us these brownies as a small treat.

While mixing all the ingredients together it smelt amazing, and I was reverted to childhood memories of sitting on the worktop ‘helping’ my mum make cakes (actually all I was doing was singing away to myself dipping my hands in the bowl)!

It is very simple…the only two ingredients you need to add to the mix are 100g of melted butter and two large eggs, fool proof right? You would think yes, until you realise you don’t have a square tin…so instead of using a tin, I decided to make heart shaped ones...I like to be different (actually these were the only silicone cake cases I had in the cupboard).

The smell that filled the house was gorgeous. So chocolaty and rich and the only thing I had to worry about was the amount of time I left them in the oven for.

As you can see they came out rather well, and they tasted great too. I even got my brother to try one, who is against anything gluten free because it ‘tastes weird’ (yes one of those!!). He said they were nice, and he ate it which nearly bowled me over. I think that’s a success in my books and an achievement.

For those of you who are not an avid baker like myself, these mixes are great for homemade sweet treats for cake sales, parties, special occasions or just for a household treat.

PSSTT they won’t know they are gluten free if you don’t tell them! :)

Rating:

7/10 Great for the non-bakers out there like me!
