I have walked past this small coffee shops for two months
now, nearly every day on my way to the same monotonous Tesco to get my bits for
lunch. It is always packed, and there are always queues.
Today I thought I would pop in on the off chance that they
sold anything remotely gluten free (as I saw they had Nak’d bars for sale on
the counter).
To my surprise they did, which was great. The Mandarin and
chocolate cake, and if I am perfectly honest my first thought was…ohh I don’t
like chocolate orange (I am more of a mint chocolate girl) but it looked so
good I thought I had to try. It was too busy in there to take a pic of the nice
cake stand it was presented on.
I don’t know how many calories this large slice has, but
quite frankly I don’t care because it is such a delicious treat. I am going to
Body Combat tonight which will blast any excess calories away.
It is such a rarity to have a NICE homemade gluten free cake.
It is moist, which is sometimes non-existent. The Mandarin flavour isn’t too
strong either, it is the right balance of orange to chocolate.
I am quite glad I popped in, otherwise I think I would be
missing out. The only thing is it’s a bit of a steal at £2.70 … I think the
visits will have to be few and far between …for my waistline and purses sake!
Another little local place selling Gluten Free Goodies.
Rating:
8/10....tastes amazing and so moist..not dry at all...I wonder where I can get the recipe?
