BFree: Bagels and Fajitas...what could be better?

I saw the team at BFree at the Allergy and Free From Festival a week ago and they were all really lovely and extremely helpful! You could see them from a mile away as they had the biggest group of people surrounding them...all wanting to try their gorgeous looking Fajitas!

There were so many people I couldn't even get to the front!!

I was given some tasty treats to take away and try, which I did (and was very grateful)!

The first product I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into were the BFree bagels and the BFree seeded bagels. I tried one of each and then had to freeze the rest! I had so much bread I didn't know how I was going to eat it all!!

The bagels were great. Soft on the inside and nice and firm on the outside. Just how a bagel should be. I liked the taste of both bagels, and they made a good breakfast before work!

They didn't break up when you cut them either, which is always a good sign!

I would like to see them on the shelves of my main supermarkets. I had heard about BFree but hadn't actually seen them in any supermarkets near me...which is very disappointing.

I thought I would save the best till last, so I did. The Fajita kit.

While I was at uni I used to look longingly at the girls in my house who would make them...and I used to sit there and just have chicken and peppers.

So I went all out. I probably made more filling then I should have...(I got a bit over excited!) and I bought free avocado, sour cream and salsa as well as salad.

Everything was ready to go...the chicken was cooking with the onions, peppers and fajita mix, the salad was prepared...then I went to heat the fajitas, and I was confronted with possibly one of my worst nightmares...a big patch of mold!

I checked the box to see if they were out of date but they weren't...they had until the 17/09/2014, and they had this on the packet of wraps too.

I opened the wraps and thank the lord the last two in the packet seemed to be OK.

A bit scared, scared of eating them and deflated (for wonder of what they would taste like if they had touched the mold) I constructed what was to be my epic Fajita.

Even after the disappointing start with the mold episode, the fajita mix is actually really really tasty, with a barbecue flavour. I was full after two fajitas.

Putting aside the little blip, I would recommend the fajita kit for the pure fact that the seasoning is nice, and it means you can actually have fajitas at the table with the rest of the family and not be the odd one out just eating the filling.

For future reference if you are buying this pack in the shops...check the box first!!

They make a quick easy, healthy meal and I am grateful that they are actually on the market (and they are round wraps!! Not square!).

Overall Verdict: BFree, well done. You surprised me! I am only sad I didn't get to try you at the Allergy Show too!

Rating:

7/10 Even with the hiccup it was still really tasty!
